Giving to church...
We understand that many people are skeptical of giving money to churches.
We understand that. You worked hard for that money, and you want to make sure that it's being used well and not mismanaged.
If you are one of those people, we thank you for taking time to read about giving to church.
If you're not skeptical, and you just want to start giving, you can get started by clicking one of these buttons:
Why should I give?
There are at least three reasons to give:
-
Giving teaches us to prioritize God. (Check out Deuteronomy 14:23)
-
Giving allows the church to do things you believe are good but may not have the time or skill to do yourself (like teaching children, taking world care trips, or maintaining a facility where people meet and activities are held throughout the week).
-
Giving people are happy people. Want proof? Check out this article and this one too.
Whatever you decide to do, keep this instruction from St. Paul in mind:
"You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. 'For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.'" (2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT)
Where can I find more detail?
At Church180, we want to keep you informed about the finances, so we use two methods to keep you in the loop:
-
Quarterly - We invite you to Inside180, a quarterly "business" meeting in which we discuss finances, ministry plans, and updates. We announce these meetings through our social media sites, in church, and here on our website.
-
Anytime - If you are interested in more detail, you may request it by sending an e-mail here.
How do I get started?
If you are ready to give, we have two ways to give: online or in church.
In case you are wondering, YES... online giving is a safe way to give.
BluePay is our payment processor, and they work with companies like Southwest Airlines, Discover Card, Hewlett Packard, and thousands of other for-profit and non-profit organizations.
If you decide to give online, there are two options:
Once you begin giving, you will receive a quarterly tax statement (you can deduct charitable giving from your taxes), along with a newsletter that shows you some of impact your money is making.
If you have more questions, please reach out to us via e-mail and we will respond quickly with an answer!
